Vintage Block Along - The Big Finish!! from Bee In My Bonnet


Hello and welcome back to my blog
 for the big finish post
of the 



We have been sewing from my 
Grandma's pattern basket for one 
lovely amazing vintage year!!

We started on January 1, 2019
and today is the last post
December 31, 2019





I have loved using my 
Farm Girl Vintage fabric 
for this quilt throughout the year.

I have also used my Bee Backgrounds
 as well for a super fun 
vintage scrappy look.

Vintage Block Along - Sections Five and Six!! from Bee In My Bonnet


Welcome back to another 
episode of the 

Today we are doing the final sections
 of our amazing vintage quilt...
sections five and six:)

Let's get right to section five!
The blocks that you will
 need are the following:


8" Spool and Bobbins



8" Leftovers



8" September Star



8" Wash Day



8" Road to Grandma's




8" Fall Social


8" Holiday Lights



8" Winter Flower



This is what this section/row looks like.
We are simply sewing all eight of the
 8" Blocks together!


Of course we will need sashing...
so you will need to cut the ...

Vintage Block Along - Sections Three and Four!! from Bee In My Bonnet


Well hello again:)
Welcome back to my 

Today we are going to put more of the
 Vintage Blocks together:)

We are going to start with section three.

The Vintage Blocks that you will
 need for this section are:


15" Pattern Basket


15" Around the Corner


15" Quilting Bee


15" Penny Candy


Both of the 7" Wildflower Blocks


This is what section three looks like put together:)


Section three sashings 
you will need to cut:
2 - 2" x 15 1/2"
4 - 1 1/2" x 15 1/2"
1- 1 1/2" x 7 1/2"

Hello and welcome to the 

Today we are going to 
start putting the blocks together!

There are six sections total and today
 I'm going to do sections one and two.

For section one you will 
need the following blocks:


14" Sunday Star


14" Bear Hug


Both 7" Sparkler Blocks


14" Family Reunion


14" Parade


And finally you will need 
just TWO of the 6" Rhinestone Blocks...
the other two will go into another section:)

Oh my goodness!
Can you believe that we are 
on the last vintage block of the 



I have had such a special time
 sewing vintage with you 
and my grandma all year long:)





And it's been so fun doing it with my
 Farm Girl Vintage fabric too!


Today's tutorial is easy peasy.
We need 5 blocks that finish at
 3" each to fill in a
 small section of the quilt...
so I chose to make the classic
 9 patch vintage block 
in red and white and call them
CHECKERS

Last week I did a block called 
Fall Flower and this week it's 
WINTER FLOWER!


Grandma absolutely loved a
 Pink Poinsettia!
She always had one(a HUGE one) 
on the round end table in the 
corner of her front room.

On that table she usually kept
 a beautiful doily made by her mother 
and a photo of her parents
 on top and a pretty candy ...

Vintage Block Along - Holiday Lights Block Tutorial!! from Bee In My Bonnet


Hello again!
Welcome back to the 



I have another vintage pattern to share
 with you from my Grandma's pattern basket.





I'm using Farm Girl Vintage Fabrics:)



Just like the last block
 this is also a 4" block 
but we are making 4 of them and
 sewing them together to make one block:)

This is a simple traditional vintage
 block and I have added the 
yellow corners because I wanted to
 make the little lights look like 
they are glowing bright for
 the holiday season.

I've named this block 
HOLIDAY LIGHTS

Welcome back to the



I'm sharing another vintage block
 with you from my 
Grandma's pattern basket.





I'm using Farm Girl Vintage fabric

In this block I also 
threw in a print from my 
 Autumn Love fabric as well!


About todays block:
I love the changing of the seasons
 as much as Grandma did.
We both especially loved fall 
and the beauty that it brings.

Surprise!!
I know it's Tuesday but 
today is the next episode in the
 Vintage Block Along:)
Guess what?
We have five blocks left to sew
(counting today's block)...

 So I'm going to be posting on Tuesday
 as well as my normal Thursday 
 for the next 5 blocks.

Because I am planning on 
posting the finished quilt on 
December 31st...
I want to make up for the few weeks 
that I could not post 
because I was sewing for market
 and then out of town:)



Because we started on January 1st...
